MANSTER FESTIVAL

November 15- November 24, 2022

In Paulo Amparo’s “Manster Carnival”, he traverses through the masks and hearts of those around him and himself. Playing with the word “monster”, he exhibits what he sees, either a man or a monster, instead a complicated species navigating life and its habitat. It is a carnival of experiences, pretenses, and mechanisms surrounding human nature mixed with societal issues and personal understanding of his sentiments towards others. Be it good or bad, past or present, we all have reasons for projecting ourselves publicly and denying vulnerability to others.

Adrian Trijo’s “Reminiscence” is a memento of his childhood memories and amusement. Through various symbolisms and artistic syllepses, Trijo navigates the intersection of adulthood and youth. Like a journal of juvenile fantasies overlapping the grim and idle world of superficial maturity, “Reminiscence” is an array of playful and surreal artworks from Trijo’s nostalgic perspective and retrospections on life.
