In music, nocturnes are compositions that evoke the mystery, elegance, and enchantment of nightfall. Romantic, dream like and ethereal the nocturne is the last, warm glimpse of the world before we fall asleep. Similarly, autumn is the season of change: a folding up and a cooling down of nature herself. The change, from year’s sunny days to longer nights and colder days.
This autumn nocturne is brought to us by six gifted female artists, who take us on a visual and emotional journey, to the end of the year itself. As the months sink into the year’s sunset, we’re reminded of taking stock of what has transpire thus far. How we have lived, and what still lies ahead and awaits us.
